It doesn't take a whole lot to stoke an argument in my family - Mother's Day or not. I believe last night's started with me making an innocent comment to my parents like "you guys should really think of buying a condo in Spain" and it quickly degenerated into something else altogether. And for once, it wasn't me or my brother leading the charge. People who are diametrically opposed are doomed to a life of needless arguing and bickering and keeping score. And always seeing the world half empty, just like the proverb says.
